Darklings,
Our magical motorcycle tour is over, and I’m back in Brooklyn recovering, reflecting, and taking in all that I’ve experienced over the last several weeks, on tour and off. I have so much I’m looking forward to sharing with you.
In addition to all the incredible memories and experiences across the eight states we performed in, I returned home with another souvenir: a tremendous bout of carpal tunnel in both of my hands and wrists from all the emailing with event promoters, social media posts, and my constant gripping of Derrick’s back while riding from one state to the next on a Harley-Davidson. Because carpal tunnel syndrome is an inflammatory condition that weakens the wrists, hands, and sometimes arms from repetitive motion activities (like writing and typing), the best way to heal is to rest those parts of your body. So, that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to take a short break from writing long-form essays here to get my body back in shape. And I do mean a SHORT break! During this time, I’ll still be around with other content, like smaller pieces of writing, updates, videos, Notes, and maybe some more behind-the-scenes pictures from the road.
Plus, I will be in the Chat this whole next week and the week after as I watch the tenth season of Vanderpump Rules. So, if anyone wants to come gossip with me and get to know each other better, that’s where I’ll be: watching many hours of excellent, sometimes cathartic, sometimes brain-numbing-in-the-best-way reality TV; resting my wrists and hands; and drinking homemade anti-inflammatory tonic. (I recommend ginger and turmeric boiled down with honey and lemon.) Come refuel with me.
Love,
Amber
Feel better soon and once again, thank you so much for sharing your travels with us!
It's always the downside of having so much fun. You can end up being exhausted. Going to be feeling that myself over the next few weeks, though less for fun.
