These fires remind me of the fires we suffered in 2019/2020 in Australia, and it’s horrifying to watch. Thinking of and praying for everyone

I really relate to the shift in the winds being something magical and then something devastating. They used to feel lively like Eve Babitz and now they hold Joan Didion's peril.

Having just lost our home and all our possessions in the two recent hurricanes - just seeing all this devastation has brought my PTSD right back. I am holding you all in my heart and praying for safety and faith. I lost my sense of both and am clawing my way back to find them. Xxx

Thank you for sharing your words and your Story Amber. This is tragic and my thoughts and my heart have been with Los Angeles residents these past couple of days...I grew up in the Bay Area. Such devastation, I am hoping all the people are getting the help they need right now.

Fires happening in poor parts of LA everyday. When has there ever been a big star studded charity fundraiser for local poor? We’re all in this together? Since when????

A friend (no names) went from helping animals last night to thinking of coming here (SE Michigan) tonight. Shit changes in a minute there.

Question: Do your parents have a way out? Can you and David get them out? (PS. Happy belated 90th to your dad) You having siblings who live near, right?
