This. So much this. I have let go of so much this year and feel like it's time to join together in community and just be with each other, riding out the winter until spring comes. Spring is always a renewal of energy, of purpose, and when I am the most excited to do all the things. But for now, Winter is coming, a time to settle and go in, in, in. Winter is time for filling the holes that are left from letting go. Feeling into what I need and require to feel whole. Thanks, Amber, for this weekly letting go. I resist it at first, then surrender and let go. Thank you.
I'm letting go of the audacity of certainty. I'm letting go of my feelings of security, awakened to the knowledge that truth does not conquer lies. I will treasure the sunrise.
I am giving up that the family I wanted to give birth to have their own ideas and I am not part of them. I was so hoping for a together family. So also any idea of an old age with family to have my back.
Yes, and. Amen." So much this. Thank you, Amber. Beautiful poem.
This week I need to let go of some shame and allow it to be accountability instead. I said something that hurt someone at Thanksgiving and, though I didn't intend harm and I apologized and they were gracious with me, I am ruminating on it as though I am the worst person ever. I need to let that go because it's not helpful for anyone in the long run.
Ugh. Your poem. Beautiful and relatable. I had a cold of some kind on election day. That cold began to improve then turned into a sinus infection. Talking to my mom, she's convinced that my stress levels kept it going.
I'm letting go of that horrible despair I felt for weeks, between watching the news and not feeling like myself. Seeing people I love, the anticipation of it, helped bring me back to a better place. I am finally feeling better physically. I've taken steps to protect my mental health and I'm going to focus on my family for the next few weeks. 🩷
Ooooh I’ve got tears in my eyes! Grateful that Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson shared this on her Instagram story. What a beautiful poem and a beautiful weekly tradition.
"everything is a goodbye just before a hello.
And you and I will still be here,
statues of liberty; a human chain of hearts
carrying each other across the finish line. "

Cheers to the poet (Amber) for giving us her creative moment.
No good riddance here this week. Just wanna set the month on gasoline like a molotov cocktail and throw it at “the places”
Burn it up!!!
Need distance, first.
"Goodbye to the immediate cruelty, the jokes
from broken boys raised by fathers
who never read them a single poem before bed.
All clowns are born from a sadness
and a fear that needed a way out.
Yes, and. Amen."
😭🧡😭🧡... beautifully exposed.

“How I scooped up those I love, and even those I don’t
in the joined palms of my hands
holding puddles of them without spilling a drop.”
Oh my goodness Amber…😭💕
For now, I really want to let go of letting go…your astonishing words struck something in me, and right now I want to HOLD ON.
Absolutely to those I love
Absolutely to those I don’t but WANT TO love.
To every kindness, every tiny blessing
To immutables like the sunrise every day
To each new day’s opportunity to do The Work,
Whatever it is and all it is
To the (oh my god, talk about wildly bucking) reigns on the fear and paralysis that just never stops threatening.
To this community
To you…if you don’t mind.
Here’s my hand…
Love to you Amber and fam!🫶🏼✨✨✨

Thank you for these words. They resonate in a very deep meaningful way.
I'm done giving these boys power.

Letting go of an unreasonable, senseless standard for myself.
Just what I needed to here this morning. I love the phrase Everything
