Good riddance to assuming our government has sufficient checks and balances in place…
The fact that Trump can do ANY of the obnoxious things he’s done over these last few weeks without internal conflict means a serious overhaul is extremely overdue…
I'm letting go of the feeling/truth that my limitations physically due to recent health issues does not mean I can't fight, resist, and give my middle finger to what is happening. I may not be able to stand or walk at a protest right now, but there are other things I can do.
I have a friend with severe MS and one of his hands no longer works at all, but the other does and he continues to extend his middle finger! Way to go you!
I cannot say if I'll be successful so this one gets a double **, nay, an endless stream of asterisks. ****... I'm letting go of my freaking rage that even after decades of trauma healing, many things continue to be difficult. Apparently, healing is for the sake of healing because this current hellscape is screeching how many of us are wounded and saying fuck you to healing. In the "working on it" group, we're all being forced to live in the brokenness the wounded are rabidly creating. It's been seriously pissing me off since at least 2016, though it's more accurate to note that in trauma families, it's rare for the entire family to agree to heal. Bah!!! Therefore, I want to find grounding with this truth... like a copper wire next to electricity. Holding steady with the anguish-rage-inducing truth.
Just picked up On Tyranny last week! It's a 'gotta read this' for all of us, certainly. Well, except for the current occupier of the WH, because, y'know, he doesn't read...
And it’s easy to keep handy, only slightly wider and no taller than a phone; hope and knowledge in the palms of our hands. Now we just need to get its wisdom and knowledge into as many heads as possible…
Good riddance to the thought I couldn't work two jobs (something I myself thought) since I've been officially doing it for a year now. While it can be definitely be very tiring, I've managed to make it work for me and the extra money allows me to do the things I want to do.
Also props to my supervisor at my main job who knows how much money I make and also knows I took this amazing trip to Asia and thus put 2 and 2 together and deduced I had to have another source of income somewhere. Luckily, she doesn't care.
And like last week, good riddance to baseball. I guess I need to let go the thought of the Braves being good
I was at our local library Read-In protest yesterday. Many of us sent postcards to our representatives about savings libraries and museums, among other things. It feels empowering to be among these large groups of like-minded people. I bought supplies so my daughter and I can make signs for next weekend's protest.
During my recovery, I've been watching the Handmaid's Tale. Some of it feels like it could be entirely too real. This has only further validated my advocating for surgery in a volatile climate. And why I have been forcing myself to find a voice in all of this.
Thank you! 🩷 I'm feeling great and looking forward to my new life after everything has healed! My issues, and the fear surrounding them, were a distraction. Now I can focus on getting my kids through this mess and helping my community.
#1 Should have been Bernie & AOC - selfless action on Bernie's part.
#2 slot should have been Cory Booker who turned around and voted with Schumer the next day. More power to him for doing something that needed to be done, perhaps for more people than just himself, but compared to Bernie's actions that was personal.
It truly is great that we are all waking up and are motivated to take responsibility for our future but there is a need to be discerning or we will end up voting in more of the same of the Dem party. Fortunately there are really a lot of fresh voices. The most middle of the road I'm willing to go (of those that racists will 'let' be elected) is Pete B. He'd be able to rebuild our institutions but I'm not sure he could address income inequality. We will not move forward as a nation until that is addressed.
Amber - have you heard or read about the 199 banned words? Two of which are 'women' and 'woman'??!! GOP & f47 & DOGE are having them 'scrubbed' from Federal websites and literature. True fact, because I have a friend who works for a federal agency (I won't name) and part of her job every day is removing these words from their department. Here's a link: https://pen.org/banned-words-list/
Oh this is amazing- good day, dearest Amber and LITD Fam.
Hellz YEAH, I feel it, the low, undeniable rumble and growing heat. Not only are those feeling it not alone, they are legion.
And YES, I am absolutely among them…and I’m letting go right here, right now, with all of you as witnesses, of this shame that I am not what they need.
I have always had a problem with rage, anger and anything in that neighborhood. Never knew/know how to deal, how to name it, how to use it. And this might be a variation on the theme of me, but it’s freakin’ scary and wants me to do things I’m scared to do. Like protests and conflicts and super-hard conversations. It’s paralyzing, draining and comes out in tears. Even now, even here.
And that is NOT what’s needed. And I think I need tools. ⚒️ No, I know I do.
I don’t know what the next steps will look like…but I want to take them. The rumble must be answered.
What I do give is my hope ( that I’ve never lost), my faith (harder, but always there) and my nutso 🥜 positivity. Ugh, ever the cheerleader 📣 😂
Hesitation in picking up the phone to call my representative….every day.

The Time is Now 🇺🇸
PHEW I feel this!!
Happy Weekend, Amber!
Time for the second reformation
I’m resisting The Supreme Court’s Bull Shit!! C’mon, go by our Constitution, not a would-be Dictator!
🔥🔥🔥

I love this, thank you for sharing!

So beautifully written eMMe, thank you as always for sharing.

On Tyranny is a great book!
I need to get a copy.

Sigh David is a huge Braves fan as well, I’m sure he’s very much sharing your pain. 🙏🏻
I’m going to Denver to see them play the Rockies in two weeks and I keep thinking, what is your return policy?
I'm trying to let go of the same, Amber. 🩷

Hell yes Audra! Hope the recovery is going well. ♥️🙏🏻

Thank you for naming that. So important for us to remind each other and stay in engaged! I’m letting go of despair!!

You all had bubbling pride over J6 people, actual citizens, being denied due process for years.
You are not valid voices to speak on the subject of due process.
